InSight Program

InSight Program

The InSight Program is developed by Career Collaborative offering a one-of-a-kind career development experience for undergraduate students at Champlain College. It is the third integrated part of your multidimensional, career focused education, alongside your MAJOR and CORE.  Through this program you will complete a series of activities and action items (called milestones) that focus on three main educational pillars: Career Readiness, Personal Finance, and Wellbeing. These three pillars will help you determine how to best market yourself to a prospective employer, how you can best manage your personal finances while in College and beyond, and how to best take care of yourself. These pillars come together to create the cornerstone of your successful transition from college to career.

Career Readiness:

Your Career Positioning track will help you formulate your personalized career marketing plan that will outline your tangible value proposition and showcase your competitive advantage to any prospective employer.

Personal Finance:

InSight’s Personal Finance education will equip you to make viable and reliable financial decisions. The fundamental elements learned through this sequence include: salary negotiation and evaluation of compensation packages; budget management and cost of living analysis; debt and credit management; and student loan repayment strategies.

Wellbeing:

InSight’s Wellbeing education offers a tangible response to today’s needs for students to learn effective coping strategies against personal and environmental stressors. At Champlain College, you will learn how to incorporate wellbeing practices into your daily life while in College, preparing you for a life well-lived. This aligns with Champlain’s culture of wellbeing in which students proactively care for themselves and others.

Activities and Action Items due Each Year

As you advance your education at Champlain, you’ll participate in a series of activities and produce deliverables that are essential to your overall career preparedness. These required activities and deliverables are strategically timed across your 4 years at Champlain, and must be completed during the academic year for which they are assigned.

InSight is an institutional requirement for all undergraduate students at Champlain College. As such, students are required to be up-to-date with their assigned InSight milestones before registering for classes for the following semester.

*New incoming students will receive detailed information over the summer about the milestones to be achieved and their specific due dates.
