HIS 170 - Film and World War II Students will explore the interaction between film and history in relation to World War II. In addition to gaining a general understanding of the origins, major events, and consequences of the Second World War, the students will also study the interdisciplinary relationship between film and history. In addition to gaining a valuable historical framework the student will also build critical thinking skills by taking an analytical approach to the study of film. Themes covered in the class might include: film as propaganda, women and the war, the Final Solution the Japanese relocation, Hollywood and the war. Students will be evaluated primarily on writing assignments. Credits: 3 CE
