EDU 380 - Gender Identity & Bullying in Late,Childhood This course is an Independent Study,,How do children learn what it means to be,masculine or feminine, and is there a correlation,between these expressions of gender and bullying?,This course will examine the impact of gender,identity in the socialization of youth in late,childhood and early adolescence. The student and,professor will combine theoretical and field,based research to explore topics such as dominant,gender norms in society, gender identity,development in children, motivations for bullying,and exclusion among students based on gender,norms and perceived identities, and supporting,students through their identity development and,bullying prevention. Prerequisites: Permission Required Credits: 3 EHS
