FOR 270 - Anti-Forensics


Students will study a specialized area of digital forensics, namely, information hiding, also known as anti-forensics, and ways to detect and counter it. Topics explored will be simple and complex data hiding in file types, cryptography (secret writing) and steganography (hidden writing), as well as leveraging specific file system & operating system features for data hiding. Students will apply basic principles of digital media to understand how digital images, audio, and video can be manipulated and how such manipulation can be detected
Prerequisites
SYS-140, NET-150, CSI-160 with C or better (in all) OR Permission of Program Director
