Professional Practices Elective


In addition to the 1-credit Professional Practices I course in the Sophomore year and the 3-credit Professional Practices II course in the Senior year, all CREM students will take one 3 credit elective in Professional Practices. The intention is to provide opportunity for more in-depth study of the professional applications of a creative area, or to build skills and aptitudes that support long term professional success in artistic endeavors. Options include courses addressing the business side of specific creative fields (ie Business of Music, Business of Film), and options addressing broad organizational and communication skills (Project Management, Public Speaking, Grant Writing). Courses that develop creative aptitudes or specific production skills (for example, Illustration, Web Design, Color Grading and Correction) are not included in this list. Interested students could still take those courses as part of their focus areas or as general electives.
