Cybersecurity Thread (33 credits)

Required Courses

The 33-credit thread provides a thorough foundation in Cybersecurity which can readily integrate with other areas of study. It includes four System courses, two Network courses, and four Cybersecurity courses as well as one NET/SEC/SYS higher-level elective. This combination provides students with both the applied technical skills and the strong comprehension of critical cybersecurity topics needed to enter the professional field.

Students will take all of the following courses plus one 300-level SYS, NET or SEC program elective:

NET 150 - Network Fundamentals
NET 215 - Network Protocols
SEC 250 - Computer & Network Security
SYS 140 - Systems Fundamentals
SEC 345 - Information Assurance
SYS 255 - System Admin & Network Services I
SYS 320 - Automation and Scripting
SEC 260 - Web and Applications Security
SEC 335 - Ethical Hacking & Penetration Testing
SYS 265 - System Admin. & Network Services II

300-level Program/Thread Electives

Students will select one 300-level course from the following list:
