ACC 371 - Advanced VITA

Students complete classroom instruction in tax law and 40 volunteer hours of tax preparation for individuals. Upon becoming IRS advanced-certified, students engage in service learning field experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for elderly and low income citizens through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. This course will require students to assume more advanced responsibilities which may include client intake, client assignment and peer review.
