HIS 170 - Film and World War II Students will explore the interaction between film,and history in relation to World War II. In,addition to gaining a general understanding of the,origins, major events, and consequences of the,Second World War, the students will also study the,interdisciplinary relationship between film and,history. In addition to gaining a valuable,historical framework the student will also build,critical thinking skills by taking an,analytical approach to the study of film. Themes,covered in the class might include: film as,propaganda, women and the war, the Final,Solution,the Japanese relocation, Hollywood and,the war. Students will be evaluated primarily on,writing assignments. Credits: 3
